Scenario
If a debit payment was created in INSIGHT and is currently unallocated, you can use the following process to allocate the Positive Cash to an outstanding Credit Note.
Process
1. Locate the client the positive cash payment belongs to and view their profile.
2. Select Menu and Account Enquiry.
3. Locate the positive cash, go to Actions beside it and select Allocate Credit - this takes you to the Allocation page of the Receipts and Allocations wizard.
4. Select the Allocate? checkbox beside the credit note you want to apply to.
5. Enter the amount you wish to allocate in the Allocated field, then select Next.
6. Review the summary, select Post to Accounts, then Yes to the confirmation message.
7. Select Finish to exit the wizard or Add Another Receipt to return to the start of the wizard.
