Preparing Quotes in SCTP

Modified on Tue, 15 Oct, 2024 at 9:05 AM

IMPORTANT: It is assumed you have attended an SCTP training course and are familiar with the SCTP interface.

Process

Initiate the Quotation wizard - refer to the below-related articles for further information.
On the Policy Summary page:
  • Enter a Brief Description
  • Choose a From Date and To Date
  • Locate the Interface field and select SCTP
  • Locate the Class of Risk field and select the relevant class you want to use
  • Select Next - this automatically logs you in to and opens SCTP

NOTE:  You must first select SCTP as the Interface so that the classes of risk selection are auto-filtered to the classes linked to SCTP.
In SCTP:
  • Select Create Quote Request or Copy Quote Request (this points to previous quotes completed in SCTP, not in INSIGHT)
  • Choose the insurers you want to send a quote request to
  • Complete and send the quote request form
  • Wait for the quotes to return from each insurer
  • Use SCTP's features to communicate with the insurer as needed

IMPORTANT: When there are multiple quotes from one insurer (i.e.: quotes for multiple excesses), you must first select View on the Quote Response in SCTP, select the checkbox beside the quote you want to present to the client, and then select Done.

To return to INSIGHT and send quotation documentation, select Done at the top right corner of the page.

Once back in INSIGHT, select Next.

IMPORTANT: When there are multiple quotes from different insurers, select the quote you want to present to the client in INSIGHT, then select Next. To present the other insurer quotes, return to this page, select another insurer quote, then select Next. The relevant insurer schedule and premiums will auto-update into INSIGHT so that you can present all options to your client.
On the Schedule page, you'll notice that the schedule has auto-downloaded from SCTP, there is no need to copy & paste the insurer schedule into INSIGHT. You have the option to format the schedule using Edit Schedule, however, every time you go in and out of SCTP, the auto-download of the schedule will occur and overwrite what is currently displayed.
On the Invoice Premiums page, you'll note that most fields are uneditable - this is because the premium details are auto-downloaded from SCTP. However, you can update your Broker Fee. Depending on your setup, to update the Broker Fee, select Fee Allocation or Override.
Complete the rest of the wizard as normal.
